If I didn't love this city enough before this past month, New Orleans has reaffirmed that this place is awesome. I've never encountered so many cheerful (albeit drunk) people in one place, and it's wonderful.
Thus far in January I've attended three parades, been in one parade, romped around Bourbon Street for 15 hours on Super Bowl Eve, and saw live NFL broadcasts. There are no words to describe how phenomenal, epic, amazing, awesome, insane, and UNREAL the past three weeks of my life have been.
To top it all off my best friend surprised me this weekend and showed her pretty face down here in Nola, even though she's going to be here next weekend too. Two weekends of pure chaos and fun with Ms. Jacqueline Jubien makes all of my wishes come true. All of them.
In addition to Jackie coming back, I have three other great friends coming to visit for Mardi Gras. I've said it before but can't stress it enough how lucky I am to have such loyal and great friends--they have visited me where ever I have moved, whether it be Virginia, New Jersey, or Louisiana. Thanks for being awesome guys. Can't wait to show you a good time this upcoming weekend. And get so many BEADS.
With warm weather, great friends, an awesome boyfriend, palm trees everywhere, phenomenal food and drinks, and such a unique culture surrounding me, I'm pretty sure I can say with 100% confidence that this place couldn't make me any happier.
Although I have been shown a glimpse of Mardi Gras so far with parade season, I'm unfathomably excited to see what this weekend has to offer, especially because I get to share it with so many people that I love. And especially because I have already purchased metallic gold leggings.
So for all of you that haven't come to visit me yet, come! I promise to save you some beads, if I can find any.
